Miss World 2008

Pantaloons Femina Miss India World Parvathy Omanakuttan, who was a hot favourite for the crown all the way through and finally missed the title by a hair's breadth to emerge the first runner up at the Miss World 2008 at the finale event of the beauty pageant held in Johannesburg, South Africa on 13 December 2008.

Ksenya Sukhinova from Russia blows a kiss on December 13, 2008 after being crowned Miss World 2008 at the Miss World pageant held at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

One of the judges asked Parvathy Onanakuttan to describe her journey and she described it confidently. She said "In India and South Africa people are warn and warm-hearted. I felt at home in Johannesburg. Great leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi have influenced millions of people in both the countries".
